My partner and I were in our 40s when we thought about having a child. We went to see our local GP who gave us information and a list of fertility clinics in the UK to choose from and said we could have one cycle of NHS-funded treatment. We did some research and chose BCRM as it had high success rates. We needed egg donation treatment. We are both now 44 and were given just one chance, it is amazing to have a baby, it is a miracle that we are sitting with our baby right now.

We simply cannot fault the treatment we received at BCRM. During our ICSI treatment, BCRM supported us in making the difficult choices along the way. Throughout our treatment, we were made to feel special and everyone seemed genuinely concerned with our situation. We especially liked the personal touch of having one nurse to see us through our treatment, who made us feel more relaxed with every visit, and who was someone we felt very comfortable sharing our feelings and concerns with.

The outcome? BCRM enabled us to achieve something we almost dared not hope possible – the ultimate birth of our beautiful, amazing son.

We were referred to BCRM by our GP when my husband and I found out that we could have one IVF/ICSI treatment funded by NHS as we were unable to conceive naturally for over two years.

BCRM has a very good reputation and proved it to us not only through their success rate well above an average but also by the high quality of care provided.

All doctors and nurses prepared us for any outcome from the treatment, not giving us any false hopes or promises, all very fair and square.

The staff are very professional, kind and supportive, always happy to answer all our questions and doubts. They guided us through the whole process and in detail explained every stage from scans, tests, medicines we’re going to take to embryo transfer.

We now have twins!! That’s more than we ever hoped for after our first try.

Our best wishes to all couples living through the infertility roller-coaster and a big THANK YOU to all those at BCRM that supported us throughout our treatment.

IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) and ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) are the two most commonly known treatments and most ‘in-demand’ at our centre.

Once you have chosen to pursue IVF or ICSI you will be given follicle stimulating drugs which will increase the production of eggs within the body, maximising the number of eggs available for fertilisation. Scans will reveal the optimum time for these eggs to be collected and you will be asked to attend the clinic on a specific day for these eggs to be collected under sedation.

At the same time, we need the male partner to produce a semen sample to be used for the fertilisation of the collected eggs, either naturally or under sedation using surgical techniques (SSR).
